This beautiful stretch of Spain's Mediterranean coast runs South from the fertile valley basin of VALENCIA to LA MANGA, taking up parts of the Provinces of Valencia, Alicante & Murcia. Of the many 'Costas', the COSTA BLANCA has probably the most agreeable all year round climate in mainland Spain; The Winters being particularly mild with mid-day temperatures in December & January still well into the late sixties/early seventies Fahrenheit, the Summers being hot of course, although often with a pleasant & gentle cooling breeze. The landscape changes as one moves South from Valencia City, fields of Oranges & Lemons abound, also, around Javea, Jalon, Moraira etc. one finds stunning pine clad hillsides & vine covered valleys, Olive groves, Palm trees & of course Almond tree orchards in abundance, the blossoming of which must be experienced (January/February). Further down the coast, South of Alicante around Torrevieja for instance, the countryside is much flatter, although still pleasant in it's own way, again being highly fertile, with many kinds of vegetables & exotic fruits grown there all year round. One hundred & fifty kilometres of glorious white sandy beaches, rugged cliffs & rocky secluded coves, picturesque whitewashed Villages set in lovely slightly inland valleys or clinging to the hillsides, a backdrop of magnificent mountains, plus, a thousand years of history kept alive by the imposing silhouettes of Castles & ancient ramparts found in many locations..........All of this, coupled with the genuine warmth & friendliness of the Spanish people & the unique relaxing lifestyle to be enjoyed by residents & visitors alike..
